Here are some of the other bags I’ve made and will have available for sale at the Open Studios.
The Hobo Bag.
This one is made out of a very soft upholstery fabric I found at a discounted fabric store in Oakland. This store is almost my little secret…

The inside is a very nice cotton fabric I found at the same store.

The Orange Circle Bag.
It is probably the most difficult bag I have made to date. I used a dinner plate to make the pattern and elongated it to be able to fold the top half. The zipper was quite difficult to work with. I think i did OK considering…

Here’s the travel tote. It is made from store-bought turquoise felt and multi-color thread. I made all the wiggly designs on the felt and used a light blue cotton fabric for the inside. It has two pockets making it a great bag to travel with. Check it out! We were in Beautiful Puerto Rico for a wedding and could not resist the colors of Downtown Hatillo that matched so perfectly with the bag. Notice the bag has a flimsy bottom. I have fixed that with a piece of corrugated vinyl/poly board. Now the bottom is stiff and somewhat water resistant.

I copied the pattern for this bag from a Kenneth Cole bag I bought a long time ago. The guard at the entrance to the De Young Museum loved it and I almost sold it to her right then and there. Well, not really, she was working… This is another one that my friend Adrianne bought for another gift.
Enjoy,

This tote was inspired by my neighbor Adrianne, who is all into cammo prints. My friend Rebecca got the fabric and I did the sewing. Voila!

Here is, yet another bag. This one was an experiment on reversible bags. One side is furry and the other is linen printed w/black & white leaves.
Check it out! My neighbor bought it for a friend who collects cow things.

I know this is not the best photo, but it is the only one I took. I just made a very simple bag by attaching ribbons to the top and bottom of a square tote made from fabric swatches my friend Rebecca gave me. I also attached a button and a loop on the top to fasten. Sofia and Isabel, my nieces, loved them.

This is the first bag I made. My Friend Kerry and I went to a “closing sale” and found a piece of this rubbery knit along the shimmery polyester I used for the inside. I reinforced the handle by attaching another piece (red) on the outside to the handle and the body of the bag. Does this make sense? Well, just a little funky bag for a funky artist. Enjoy.

I wish you a great New Year full of creativity and health. I know I have been pretty lame with posting in this blog, but maybe this year I’ll be better.
I just wanted to show you the last bag I made last year, one I hope you enjoy.

Here is another bag. I was inspired by a bag that a friend of mine had hanging on her office door. I used a beautiful dotted remnant I found at Britex. I traced the pattern so I could get the most out of the piece. It is shallow and long with a rounded fabric covered handle. Surprisingly comfortable. I have been using this bag to take note on how to make it better. I know now that I will change the inside pockets to be more efficient, if not bigger. It is also lined with a beautiful yellow upholstery cotton with a fine corduroy texture.
I hope you like it.
